Getting my brushes wet....finally

Yesterday was 4 weeks since my Annie died. It's really hard to believe how fast time goes sometimes. I miss her so and still am not sleeping very well. The boys are trying to fill the void, but it's not the same and never will be.

I am trying to get on with life and have had a welcome distraction in the past couple of weeks. Some friends and I have started an art website called Painting Friends. I did most of the technical stuff setting it up and it was a huge learning curve for me, but fun. Most of us are into watercolor but any medium is welcome. We have some good demonstrations and challenges and we're having fun. If you have any interest, it's http://paintingfriends.com/.

I finally got my brushes wet on Sunday for the first time since before Annie died. It felt very good. I finished a painting I had started and did another one, both dandelion clocks. Ruth put a wonderful demo on Painting Friends and it was so helpful. I'm working on a few other paintings as well.

Deb! I'm so sorry to hear about Annie. I know how special she was to. Great paintings. I really like the one you did of Annie. Be well, my friend.

Deb..this is beautiful! I just took a photo that looks just like this-did you mask out the "puff"? I'm sorry to hear about Annie..but looks like you'll have your hands full with the kittens....good luck...

Thanks Holly! Glad you like them. Yes, I did mask out the puff. In the top one, I also blotted it a lot. In both of them I scratched more out with a knife.

Thanks about Annie. It's been tough, but the kittens are helping so much! Haven't had a kitten in years and these girls are a blast!
