I've been experi-
menting with Golden Crackle Paste. This was done on a 5"x5" Aquabord with mostly fluid acrylics and a drop or two of acrylic ink. I tinted the crackle paste with yellow and did the rest with washes and brushwork. The ref photo is one taken by my sister, photographer Roberta Fair.

You are such a diverse and exciting artist. I really enjoyed your blog and how you shared your life. Thnank you - and be sure to get some YUPO paper to play on too. I think you would enjoy it.
Deb,
Perfect technique to portray the surface texture and the veins. Very cool!

Hey Deb, this came out really cool. I thought it was a photo at first. Can't wait to see the next one on Yupo :-)
Hi Deb,
I just bought crackle paste myself and am a bit uneasy about using it on my work lol. I know the best thing to do is tint it first as it has a tendancy to yellow. Do you apply the washes over it before or after it dries? (I have read several opinions on that) Besides my question you have amazing work here! :) I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who has a variety of ideas in their work. Happy creating!

Hi Dawn,
I had to go back and look to see what I did with this one. I had taken some pics and found that I did tint it with some yellow first. Before any other washes were done, I let it dry completely. I really enjoyed how the little cracks can fill with pigment, but on another one I did, I found that I just went too far and some of the pieces lifted. I'm sure I had too much water.
Thanks for your kind words about my work. I love playing and trying new things!
Deb
